This is a reported fatwa of the late Abd ul-Aziz ibn Baaz, leading religious authority of Saudi Arabia:

Has anybody seen the Earth from space, or flown or sailed around it? Or did Magellan even exist. Because I don't want to be an atheist deserving of punishment. I want to be innocent like angels and pure like Wahhabis.
