Maybe, if the entire business were legalized and regulated, the number of STDs might fall, and there's that lovely tax revenue to be considered.

Only if proper health and safety measures were taken.

First we must recognize that whether it is legal or not, prostitution cannot be legislated away. From this recognition, it is a simple logical step to realize the wisdom of legalization, inspection for diseases, and the provision of a safe working environment for people who choose to be prostitutes. We all sell something for money.

Absolutely not. Legalizing the further exploitation of women is not acceptable.

I think it should be legal as long as there are rules and regulations for everybodys protection..
Mr. Wideheadofknowledge: Although I agree that prostitution is often the exploitation of women, I do not think that argues against legalization. Prostitution is a fact. No government in melleniums has successfully legislated prostitution out of existence. Hence, it will always be with us. Let's regulate, tax it, medicate it, and let whomever wishes to motor on.
