NO NO NO Silly people you were easily fooled. Gold is measured in Troy weight whereas Feathers is measured in Avoirdupois. An Avoirdupois pound is heavier than a Troy pound.

Feathers, which are weighed on the averdupois (sp?) system. Gold is weighed in the Troy system, I believe and has only 12 averdupois ounces to the pound.

the feathers weigh more because gold is measured in troy and for that a lb. of gold is 12 oz and a lb of feathers is 16 oz so feathers weigh more

I believe that gold is weighed in Troy weight. That os 14 ounces to the pound
Gold is weighed in Troy units because it is a precious metal. 1 Troy pound = 12 Troy ounces = 13.17 regular ounces. 1 regular pound (of feathers) = 16 regular ounces. The feathers weigh more.
Your answer is incorrect. They would weigh the same. The Feathers would simply be more volume, not more weight.
