SHOULD EVERY CREDIT CARD OFFER YOU GET ADD 1 POINT TO YOUR CREDIT RATING?

I think that each time you receive a credit card offer in the mail, that you should receive a point on your credit card rating.

Credit card companies target everyone, including people who have credit problems, with their continual offers of supposedly 'cheap' credit. And while yes, people should take responsibility for their own actions and not get into credit trouble, offering them more credit cards would be like Anheiser Busch stopping by at a house where someone is an alcoholic and trying to quit drinking, and offering up some beer on his front doorstep.

How about each offer adding a point to your credit rating?

No, this is not a good idea 3

Yes, that would help solve the problem. A lot less junk mail for the postal service to deliver as well.

Sounds great but not likely to happen IMO...

Is it true that U.S. credit card companies can look at your other bills and increase your interest if you are behind? Like if they look at your phone bill and see a balance of say, $300, they can fuck you by increasing your interest rate? I heard this somewhere but couldn't believe it...true?

No, because the rating is supposed ot be a measurement, not a reward/ punishment system.
