COMMENTS:
My fine art business, which is heavily tourist-based, suffered a blow. Recovery has been slow, and I'm still not where I was this time five years ago.

BL: What a coincidence, mine is down, as well.
Voted : They haven't changed my life in any significant way

Considering the events of 2011 wont occur for at least 5 years, I couldnt honestly say they have affected my life at all to date.
^I agree with lil-ape!
... meant Sept. 11, 2001, sorry....
Voted : Significantly changed my financial picture
My financial situation took a drastic turn. I lost my job and my 401K went in the shitter. At least Larry Silverstein is doing better. Now I truly see how the world is run and by whom.
My wife and I have close friends in the Phoenix and New York but she refuses to visit them because she doesn't want to be fingerprinted and photographed crossing the border (she's Japanese). Kind of annoying. Yes, I could go alone.

I'm still pretty much the same paranoid bastich I was before then. More people know about me now, that's all.
Lava, you *do* know that we've got the site's timepod available for all users, don't you? One proscription in its use, though- *no visiting Waterloo*.
Received karma rating of : -5 from Mithrandir For the ballot choice #892698 @ Bestandworst.com. "It has changed the image and the course of Islam forever!" Perhaps you would like to take a moment to explain yourself, Mithrandir, because this choice was not "Sabotage" as you put. You gave a negative karma rating simply because you disagreed with someone's opinion
The guest comment that you approved didn't address the ballot question. The question was about how the events of 9/11 changed YOUR life, unless of course you are the incarnation for all Islam, Jappy. To approve a choice that doesn't address the question of the ballot but serves only to put across to pose some generalized statement on Islam is sabotage. If your answer had been to say, for example - it changed my perspective on Islam - that would have been fine. Co-incidently, now this choice has all the votes. It's amazing how so many ballots are peppered with sabotage choices against Islam, usually a couple of weeks after people have stopped voting on them and that those choices have the overwhelming majority of votes - months later. But, usually it's Jinn who manufactures those. I'm expecting Jenny17 to get into the fray anytime now.
Voted : Significantly changed the political landscape where I live
it's difficult to articulate; but, I'd say there is a much stronger element of DISTRUST in our political environment.
Voted : They haven't changed my life at all
Not at all, although my life started getting worse around that time for unrelated reasons.
Voted : Not as much as that tsunami
I think the tsunami was far worse. It has changed my life in one way, i'd like the borders secured more, i'd like our guys in Iraq over HERE where they belong protecting OUR country :)
Voted : Yr. 2011 hasn't happened yet!
- but if you refer to 9/11/2001, WTC in NYC, it firmed up my thoughts against religions, generally, showing just how fuktup religions can make people act. BAN THEM ALL before they destroy the planet...stupid childish head-games that they are. Time for mankind to grow up and stop "believing-in" silly stuff that simply doesn't exist.
I don't know if it so changed my life as alteroing my feelings on trust in my fellow man...
