Well, I KNOW it USED to be in New Jersey... but, I THOUGHT that piece of land recently changed over to New York through some deal the two states negotiated. Still, for the quiz... and WITHOUT LOOKING (seriously), I'm going with NJ because I'm trying to second guess you, Mr. USRocks. Let's see if I'm right.
Well Liberty Island is property of Liberty State Park NJ, and is part of Jersey City.

Ellis Island is in New Jersey. This was the finding of the U.S. Supreme Court Decision in this matter.
