I'll run with that too, and I *do* know a few wealthy people. Most of them have been wealthy all their lives, and they consequently know nothing about the troubles of real life.

I do not respect anyone on the basis of their wealth, or lack thereof. My heroes are single moms working two jobs to keep their families together; parents who delay their retirement to continue working to send their kids to college; ordinary people who live lives that are heroic without recognition.
As a social class I don't give either respect based simply on their level wealth.
There are poor people who are absolutely dispicable, as well as rich. And there are rich people who are just as hard working and honest as anyone earning minimum wage picking tomatos.
Have to go on individual merits. I agree that paris hilton is a parasite, but not everyone who inherited money is like this, nor is everyone who worked their way up from the bottom a person to be respected.

You make some excellent points but you shouldn't hold it against people just because they may have or will inherit money. Its just a fact of life that we live in a world that puts a greater value on the upper classes. the wealthy are not bound by the same laws and rules that most people are You can break the law and say what you want because no grunge bureaucrat is going to rock your boat if your parents or grandparents can pick up the phone and call a senator or governnor or who ever. We should respect everyone as equal since we are in fact all equal and all valuable lives but the establishment is going to continue to kiss rich people's asses. Speaking of parasites though, Paris and Brandon Davis and all those left coast jackasses are pretty much vile people.
I think my problem might be is that I don’t personally know any rich people, the impressions I have are from the media, I did generalize , I admit.
