Sorry about the erroneous confusing second choice there - ignore it.

And what do we get in return for our so-called security? Government-sponsored internal terrorism. Thanks, Republicans.
The first video is very disturbing btw folks, so be warned, not for the faint hearted.
i called. you want to ask for the chancelor's office. the uc's have a president who is at another number. ask for the ucla's chancelor's office. the girl i spoke to said they were extremely upset by the whole incident and to check their web site. she said they have been flooded with calls -- all supporting the student. this is a case of a keystone cop wanna-be in the guise of security guards, acting like they were actual law enforcement professionals. they're not. they're most likely flunkies jealous of the students.' what kind of name is tabatabainejad? well, bush created this whole atmosphere, so thank him. now you have people who really think they are looking out for our best interest doing anything but. that kid's parents are going to sue ucla and i hope they bankrupt it.
They dont need to go this far, yet they have.
They could simply escort the student to the place where they left their identification. Or they could escort the student somewhere where they can enter his name into a database and retrieve his information.

"This is not America. Sha-na-na-an-na..."
Sounds like one incident of a few cops screwing up (they'll be punished, that part you didn't mention), not part of a conspiracy to crush all freedom, blah blah, whatever you were going for. No more than the rodney king beatings were proof that the cops were out killing every single black man they came across in an effort to completely exterminate the black race. Fearmongering anyone?
I think ken is pretty desperate for the real america to match his imagined fascist america if he is stretching this one story out of proportion this much.

MAYBE they'll be punished. maybe they'll just get their hands slapped because they "thought he had a weapon and felt threatened" But even if they are punished - their actions are inexcusable and unless there is an outcry - these kind of incidents will continue. It's not just an isolated incident - crap like this happens far too frequently. But what does it matter to most of us unless it us, or our family or our friends??? But it DOES happen. Over the years i've heard plenty of stories, some from the area i grew up in from people who knew the individuals involved. People die, and we don't notice because we don't know them, because we never made eye contact with them or knew their children. And the rent-a-cops are some of the scariest ones out there, because they aren't really cops, and they think they should be and their heads are full of illusions of power. And this fear-fueled terrorism panic allows these power crazed fanatics to justify their abusive behavior. So Ken has a tendency to point this kind of stuff out.... well, someone's got to do it. god help my hubby if some rent-a-cop ever asks for his id - he won't even show it at the polls - makes them give him one of those forms to fill out...
I couldn't help but notice that the police are so much nicer and reasonable now that I'm no longer a "Punk!" teenager. This sounds like a real horrer story.
The cops handled it about as horribly as they could've, very stupid and irresponsible on their parts, but one incidence of extreme police stupidity is by no means indication that America is a police state.
And lightreaper, you're right in that this isn't an isolated incident, but, IMO, America is still hardly a police state. The cops deserve punishment though >.>
Ken, I have to ask, do you really believe one incident of some cops royally screwing up, breaking their own rules, and then being punished for this act means that the entire US is a police state where this is routinely practiced as standard operating procedure by the police? I know your penchant for self-delusion, but I don't think even you could believe this.
Anyone who isn't worried about all this deserves what they're gonna get.
Oh come one ! That headline looks like something you would read in a rag mag! Ken ! Come join us in the land of realism ! Why would you word your ballot like some cheap hack reporter for the lowliest of rag mags would? You are paranoid. No doubt it is a disturbing news story, but it is hardly indicitive of things to come. You sir, are a false prophet of doom and gloom!
And for the record, people keep saying "Cops" in this ballot ! They were not the Police ! They were UCLA internal Security personnel. There is a huge difference between the Police and Security Guards that are not Public employees and who have NO law enforcement powers! You are dangerous Kenneth!
The Land of the Free, lol. IU love it how that stupid bastard herzog continues to defend his rose-tinted "Tom Sawyer" view of America even in the face of video evidence to the contrary. What a fucking loser.
I expect those two glorified mall guards to end up as security screeners at LAX.
crap I just made a repeat because I didn't look at this ballot first!!!

we may not quite be a police state yet but if we ignore this type of behavior - we will be. and yes these were rent-a-cops - notorious for their "enthusiasm", however there are plenty of incidents which involve actual policemen - whose salaries are paid by us - the taxpayer.
I think the ensuing lawsuit proves that this is not standard, acceptable procedure here in the US. I wonder when ken will acknowledge this?
