AMERICANS TO BE TORTURED FOR REFUSING TO SHOW ID?

Student shocked, tortured for defending constitutional rights

A horror video that wouldn't look out of place in Maoist China or Nazi Germany shows a student being repeatedly shot with a stun gun by UCLA police for the crime of not showing his ID. As similar cases begin to pile up how long will it be before Americans are routinely tortured for noncompliance and refusing to have their 4th amendment violated?

"A cell phone captured video of a 23-year-old student being administered multiple Taser shocks by UCLA police on Tuesday. The UCLA student was hit with the Taser shocks multiple times while he was in the Powell Library Computer Lab. According to the paper, the student did not show ID to community service officers who were conducting a random check," reports NBC.

Watch the video above and witness as the cops bark at the student to get to his feet as they simultaneously shock him over and over until he begins crying and screaming for them to stop.

Over a hundred deaths have occurred in America as a result of taser shocks and Taser's own manual discourages repeated shocks, yet the history of their use tells us that police simply administer repeated shocks until "compliance is gained." This is a euphemism for torture.

The video and the eyewitness reports describe multiple taser shots as Tabatabainejad begs and pleads while at one point screaming, "Here's your Patriot Act, here's your f---ing abuse of power."

The officers repeatedly order Tabatabainejad to stand even as they administer further shocks - sending 50,000 volts of current that override the nervous system and temporarily paralyze muscles shooting through his system again and again. He can't stand and the cops know it, they just get off on the maniacal ego power trip of torture and this is why Tabatabainejad is hit again and again despite his screaming and the protests of the onlookers.

Similar cases abound in the so-called land of the free, including the video above in which a housewife, Abbey Newman, is assaulted and arrested for simply refusing to tell the gestapo her name at an unconstitutional checkpoint. Another case in which an Alex Jones listener, Ferrell Montgomery, was tasered and had a dog set on him again underscores the brutal and sadistic nature of the police. Like Tabatabainejad, Montgomery was repeatedly told to put his hands behind his head and stand up while he was electric shocked and a dog savaged him for not complying.

In November 2005, Deborah Davis was reading a book on a Denver bus when a guard of a nearby federal building got on board and demanded everyone show their ID. Davis refused, leading the guard to "call on federal cops, who then dragged Davis off a public bus, handcuffed her, shoved her into the back seat of a police car and drove off to a police station within the Federal Center."

How long before Americans are tortured with taser weapons on the streets for refusing to show identification on a routine basis?

Every indication suggests that there are moves afoot to implement these measures on every major street corner and transport system. A year ago we were told that Federal air marshals were to expand their work beyond airplanes, launching counter-terror surveillance at train stations and other mass transit facilities.

So called "Visible Intermodal Protection and Response" teams — or VIPER teams, may soon be permanently deployed to check ID's under the banner of this fake counter-terrorism.

We need to set a precedent now whereby police who use taser stun guns and any other kind of unreasonable force as implements of torture, simply if an individual refuses to have their 4th amendment right illegally violated, are instantly fired, sued and can never work in any sector of government, policing or security again.

ACTION: Call UCLA and demand an investigation into this incident. BE POLITE. 310-825-4321

Sorry about the erroneous confusing second choice there - ignore it.

Voted : I'm not prepared to give up my freedoms for 'security'
And what do we get in return for our so-called security? Government-sponsored internal terrorism.

Thanks, Republicans.

The first video is very disturbing btw folks, so be warned, not for the faint hearted.

i called. you want to ask for the chancelor's office. the uc's have a president who is at another number. ask for the ucla's chancelor's office. the girl i spoke to said they were extremely upset by the whole incident and to check their web site. she said they have been flooded with calls -- all supporting the student.

this is a case of a keystone cop wanna-be in the guise of security guards, acting like they were actual law enforcement professionals. they're not. they're most likely flunkies jealous of the students.'

what kind of name is tabatabainejad? well, bush created this whole atmosphere, so thank him. now you have people who really think they are looking out for our best interest doing anything but. that kid's parents are going to sue ucla and i hope they bankrupt it.

They dont need to go this far, yet they have.
by mysticalknight on Thu Nov 16, 06 2:22pm [+]

They could simply escort the student to the place where they left their identification. Or they could escort the student somewhere where they can enter his name into a database and retrieve his information.

Sounds like one incident of a few cops screwing up (they'll be punished, that part you didn't mention), not part of a conspiracy to crush all freedom, blah blah, whatever you were going for.

No more than the rodney king beatings were proof that the cops were out killing every single black man they came across in an effort to completely exterminate the black race.

Fearmongering anyone?
by herzog on Thu Nov 16, 06 4:48pm [+]

I think ken is pretty desperate for the real america to match his imagined fascist america if he is stretching this one story out of proportion this much.
by herzog on Thu Nov 16, 06 4:50pm [+]

Voted : I'm not prepared to give up my freedoms for 'security'
MAYBE they'll be punished. maybe they'll just get their hands slapped because they "thought he had a weapon and felt threatened"
But even if they are punished - their actions are inexcusable and unless there is an outcry - these kind of incidents will continue. It's not just an isolated incident - crap like this happens far too frequently. But what does it matter to most of us unless it us, or our family or our friends??? But it DOES happen. Over the years i've heard plenty of stories, some from the area i grew up in from people who knew the individuals involved. People die, and we don't notice because we don't know them, because we never made eye contact with them or knew their children. And the rent-a-cops are some of the scariest ones out there, because they aren't really cops, and they think they should be and their heads are full of illusions of power. And this fear-fueled terrorism panic allows these power crazed fanatics to justify their abusive behavior.
So Ken has a tendency to point this kind of stuff out.... well, someone's got to do it.

god help my hubby if some rent-a-cop ever asks for his id - he won't even show it at the polls - makes them give him one of those forms to fill out...
by lightreaper on Thu Nov 16, 06 6:49pm [+]

I couldn't help but notice that the police are so much nicer and reasonable now that I'm no longer a "Punk!" teenager. This sounds like a real horrer story.
by skylab on Thu Nov 16, 06 8:38pm [+]

The cops handled it about as horribly as they could've, very stupid and irresponsible on their parts, but one incidence of extreme police stupidity is by no means indication that America is a police state.
by himself809 on Thu Nov 16, 06 8:49pm [+]

And lightreaper, you're right in that this isn't an isolated incident, but, IMO, America is still hardly a police state.

The cops deserve punishment though >.>
by himself809 on Thu Nov 16, 06 8:55pm [+]

Ken, I have to ask, do you really believe one incident of some cops royally screwing up, breaking their own rules, and then being punished for this act means that the entire US is a police state where this is routinely practiced as standard operating procedure by the police?

I know your penchant for self-delusion, but I don't think even you could believe this.

Anyone who isn't worried about all this deserves what they're gonna get.

Oh come one ! That headline looks like something you would read in a rag mag! Ken ! Come join us in the land of realism !

Why would you word your ballot like some cheap hack reporter for the lowliest of rag mags would? You are paranoid. No doubt it is a disturbing news story, but it is hardly indicitive of things to come. You sir, are a false prophet of doom and gloom!
by My_Black_Pearls on Fri Nov 17, 06 6:05am [+]

And for the record, people keep saying "Cops" in this ballot ! They were not the Police ! They were UCLA internal Security personnel. There is a huge difference between the Police and Security Guards that are not Public employees and who have NO law enforcement powers!

You are dangerous Kenneth!
by My_Black_Pearls on Fri Nov 17, 06 6:08am [+]

The Land of the Free, lol.

IU love it how that stupid bastard herzog continues to defend his rose-tinted "Tom Sawyer" view of America even in the face of video evidence to the contrary. What a fucking loser.

I expect those two glorified mall guards to end up as security screeners at LAX. IC_tune
by _Beelzebubba on Fri Nov 17, 06 9:48am [+]

crap I just made a repeat because I didn't look at this ballot first!!!
by Jyl on Fri Nov 17, 06 12:00pm [+]

we may not quite be a police state yet but if we ignore this type of behavior - we will be.

and yes these were rent-a-cops - notorious for their "enthusiasm", however there are plenty of incidents which involve actual policemen - whose salaries are paid by us - the taxpayer.
by lightreaper on Fri Nov 17, 06 4:52pm [+]

I think the ensuing lawsuit proves that this is not standard, acceptable procedure here in the US.

I wonder when ken will acknowledge this?
