Timeless masterpiece based on legendary science fiction writer Philip K. Dick's novel 'Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep'... Scott should do a life story movie of the author, who was the Jackson Pollack of American literature in my opinion.
Blade Runner is great. It's good to see an understated sci-fi. Most Hollywood sci-fi is overblown crap, even if it's based on a Philip K Dick novel. Total Recall, anyone?

Great film.
haven't seen it, but it can't be too bad since the matrix was based on it

I pass on it everytime it falls across my TV. Didn't much care for the short it was based on, either, so that might be a consideration.
I prefer Alien. That still stands the test of time as a painfully claustrophobic nightmare.
Equally brilliant, Scott himself recently described it as 'perfect', but a totally different kind of film within the genre, Alien was a superior serial killer movie, whereas Blade Runner was a far more complex and avante garde mystery thriller. Both though have stood the test of time and both share the same tense mood and signature dark atmosphere that is unique to Scott. Pity he hasn't done any more science fiction movies since.
"Pity he hasn't done any more science fiction movies since." I wonder why? He did seem to be particularly good at it - especially considering the technical limitations of the late 70's and early 80s.
