Yes, with no hesitation...I served over 8 years myself...
Voted : Of course I support our troops
that was some cold-hearted shyt for them to not welcome troops home. I've heard some people arguing for the war on the radio, saying "that's why there's an army, that's what those people's job is". like we HAVE to throw a war to put the army to work.. I've heard that argument a few times and I'm downright floored that anyone can be that idiotic and then make it onto the radio to show what a dumbass they are.. and maybe there are a few people who feel that way, but I hope most people who join the Army don't join just so they get the chance to go to war. I hope they aren't dying for nothing, I mean each individual's life has some meaning, I hope.

The soldiers are doing as they are ordered to do, its their job not to question why but to serve the country, in my case the UK, its the ones sat in their nice comfy office safe from harms way and giving the orders that I dont support.

ooops forgot to add my vote.

i just don't see why we need to waste these young lives - these soldiers are my daughter's age.....
Voted : Of course I support our troops
Of course. The sooner they get home the better. If Bush wasn't numb-nut they never would have gone in the first place.
Some do, some don't.

that was some cold-hearted shyt for them to not welcome troops home. by Jyl It was. I have two very good friends who fought in Vietnam and can tell some very sickening stories of how they were treated after they got back. One was having a fairly nice conversation with a police officer until he found out he was in Vietnam and then told my friend, "Oh, so you were one of them baby killers, huh?". The result was my friend doing a little jail time for assault on a police officer. I can't say that I blame him.

I don't support the purpose of the war but absolutely support the men and women in service to our country. The Veitnam Vets deserve better and I hope this generation will honor and respect them (Veitnam Vets) just as we honor and respect the Gulf War Vets and the Veterns of this current conflict. Grumpy, US Servicemen are expected to question their commanders decisions and promptly report any inappropriate orders. I don't recall the Service member's name, but he's facing courtmartial for refusing to report for combat in Iraq on grounds it's an illegal war (his words). We'll have to wait and see the outcome. He's facing six years in prison if convicted.
Sorry Grumpy, That last comment is for Minni_the_minx.
This question really irritates me -- so many on the Right seek to equate the two "supports," assuming that if one supports the troops, they will be forced to support the war, however unwillingly. I respect the men and women in the military. And I am sick of the various word games Repoublicans have been twisting for so many years, now. If any of us truly 'supported' the troops, we'd be demanding that politicians stop putting them in harm's way, unnecessarily.
^ Anything short of what I suggested is mere lip service.
are you the one who voted "no" herzog, and then said "some do some don't"? when the question wasn't directed at you? weak.

No problem, Passive. Speaking of the soldier that you mentioned, if it's the same one I'm thinking about, he's got quite a few fellow soldiers rallying around him from what I remember.
Voted : Of course I support our troops
Let's hope there are no jerks out there who treat them badly when they come home.
Jyl, no, I didn't vote. Hence the lack of any "Voted: No I don't support the troops" tag at the top of my comments. So stow the attitude, stop trying to be clever and go back to what you do best: making juvenile comments about how you hate all humanity.
Voted : Of course I support our troops
At present, I have six friend son the ground over there, one of whom is now back stateside (wounded in action), and a seventh has just been called up from the reserves, will be going in March. Fully, fervently and with all my heart.
hm, then you've somehow never noticed the big "show your vote with comment" check-off.. uh hu, I'm convinced :) I'm convinced you spend a lot of time talking about people you clearly can't know.
