COMMENTS:
Are the moderate Muslims in the Netherlands so few in number that of those who have gone, that there are only radicals or Moroccan immigrants to replace them?!? Besides which, how are we to assume that all the ones that left were 'moderate'?
Voted : No, not necessarily
Depends on which type are leaving, the radicals or the moderates? I think efforts to combat radical islam within the islamic community should come primarily from the followers themselves. They shouldn't count on moderate leaders appearing, and then following whoever does show up (radical or otherwise). They should ignore their radicals, or even better, condemn them. And these imams will be left powerless without an eager following.
Herzog, it's not easy for Muslims to integrate, so sometimes kids look to a leader, like an imam.

Aya: it's as easy for them to integrate as it is for any immigrant group, but they have to want to integrate, and many don't.
aya- I agree with herzog. I place faith in Muslims that they should be capable themselves to condemn radicals, rather than the Dutch government being responsible to ensure the sensible people are in charge at mosques. I do not think of Muslims as empty and mindless without minds of their own- I do beleive they can and should be able to recognise and condemn the radical leaders themselves. As for disillusioned youths? I believe the demographics of Muslims that attend mosque has quite a large adult attendance- and they can be responsible by condemning any radical leaders above them, and guiding their children below them.
What do you mean by "radicals"?
