SHOULD THE MEDIA INCLUDE ALL RELEVENT FACTS IN A STORY, EVEN IF . . .

it makes certain minority groups look bad?

The media has covered the story of a Turkish-Armenian reporter being shot to death in Istanbul.

" NTV television said Dink had been shot three times in the head and neck.

Muharrem Gozutok, a restaurant owner near the newspaper, said the assailant looked about 20, wore jeans and a cap and shouted “I shot the infidel” as he left the scene."

However, with the exception of the telegraph, all major media outlets (Reuters, AP, CNN, Washington Post, LA Times, NY times, and so on) removed the "I shot the infidel" quote and are instead pinning this as an ethnic conflict, rather than another attempt at islamic jihad against all infidels.

No doubt that had they printed that quote muslim groups would be up in arms about how they are being unfairly stereotyped by the facts again.

Do you think it is right for the media to edit out certain facts to make particular minority groups less unhappy, or should they include all relevent facts in their stories regardless of whose feelings get hurt?

They should edit their stories to avoid bothering muslims 62%
They should print all relevent facts regardless of who it bothers 37%

At least that's the way a truly unbiased media would function. I can dream. . . .

all facts or the news ceases to be "news" and becomes editorial. i'm fed up with this pc crap. tell it like it is or get out of the way and let a real news organization tell it. if he yelled "i shot the infidel," report it and let the viewer/reader infer what that means. to me it means yet again, a racially/culturally motivated hate crime perpertrated by a muslim against a non-muslim. it is a hate crime and should be reported as such. afterall, if a white christian had shot an arabic muslim, that's what they'd call it.
