YEAR 2007- DO YOU CALL IT 'TWO THOUSAND AND SEVEN' OR 'TWENTY O' SEVEN'?

I ask this because it seems to me that most people I hear refer to it as 'Two thousand and seven'. However, though out history, the other way of saying was used- eg- the years 1607, 1707, 1807 and 1907 were said as 'Sixteen o' seven', 'Seventeen o' seven', 'Eighteen o' seven' and 'Nineteen o' seven' respectively. So by this pattern shouldn't 2007 be said as 'Twenty o' seven'?

Which way do you say 2007? Explain why.

Well, I'm going to start saying it as 'Twenty o' seven' (and Twenty o' eight for 2008, etc, etc).

I think it's the acronym syndrone...(IMO) twenty o' seven is good (informal?) but if there's some decree being read or a formal affair, I think two thousand,seven is more proper...I just say '07 because not many folk will confuse it with another century...
