nothing new. doesn't perrier already do that?
Voted : I am perfectly comfortable with that idea
As long as the water is properly treated, it is more an aethetic problem than a health one. However, without stringent regulation and operation, such an operation could pose a significant health risk, if anything went wrong (oh, say if Republicans gutted laws and allowed water plants to go on the cheap and/or with minimal regulation).
Voted : I don't really like the idea of it, but it is understandable for drought stricken places
As long as they do it right there is no problem. All water was wastewater at some point, the trick is cleaning it properly.
just clean it properly

Pretty much all the water people drink is processed sewage or waste water. It isn't like we have a large number of streams and lakes that people can safely drink from without the water being processed. On space missions, urine and other waste is recycled back as drinking water. As long as all this is done safely, I don't see a problem.
^ we get all of our water from huge reservoirs upstate. i had no idea how big until i went up to westchester and saw one -- it was massive! there are epa police guarding them all and they are designated nyc drinking water supply. where do you live that you're drinking raw sewage?
^ that didn't come out right. meaning i think in rural areas they usually have their own wells and in some metropolitan areas, if no reservoir, they do what you describe.
Voted : I don't like the sound of it at all
Kev, thanks *again* for reminding me why I don't drink that crap... Mind you, I wouldn't at *all* be surprised to learn that someone somewhere's been doing this for *years*...

I think recycled water should only be used in a last restort situation because who in their right mind would drink recycled water if they had a choice not to? God I hope we never have to invent recycled food.

I had no idea i was drinking someone else's waste. When my friend said I was talking shit he may have been technically right.
Voted : I am perfectly comfortable with that idea
They ALREADY do this in most U.S. cities...including Toledo, where I live...
every drop of water on this earth has been here since the beginning of time, so at one time, were all gonna drink filtered sewage water. as long as its filtered, we have nothing to worry about.

If you think of it, all the water we now have, has been here since the Earth was formed. No more,no less. It's been recycled for millions of year. Dinosaurs may have pissed that cup of water you're drinking. There's just too many people on this Earth and we must control our birth rate.
