Voted : Let me spin this below
Fortunately she covered her bases and made so many contradictory remarks that with a good campaign manager (and the clintons are no amateurs themselves) and a compliant media they'll have no problem saying she was always against the war, despite what those mean spirited republicans are saying.
^Well, looks like Neocon Boy certainly did spin it. Apparently he has taken time off from worshipping Bush five times a day, on his knees, facing the Alamo, to grace us with his presence. Lucky us.
^true. I was hoping to hear the Democrats perspective (I should have mentioned it).
"WASHINGTON (CNN) -- Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton said she is not sorry she voted for a resolution authorizing President Bush to take military action in Iraq despite the recent problems there but she does regret "the way the president used the authority." "How could they have been so poorly prepared for the aftermath of the toppling of Saddam Hussein?" the New York Democrat asked Tuesday night on CNN's "Larry King Live." "I don't understand how they had such an unrealistic view of what was going to happen." To the disappointment of some antiwar liberals in her Democratic base, Clinton, the former first lady, voted in favor of the Iraq war resolution in October 2002. "Obviously, I've thought about that a lot in the months since," she said. "No, I don't regret giving the president authority because at the time it was in the context of weapons of mass destruction." * * * * * * * * To conservatives, and especially to pro-war, military-avoiding neocons, Clinton is in a no-win situation. If she hadn't voted for Bush's oil war she would have been pilloried as unpatriotic because of all those millions and billions of weapons of mass destruction that Saddam had that the neocons were going to send others to war to confiscate. Since she did vote for the war, something the conservatives and cowardly neocons supported, they are now trying to twist that around because she has the audacity to point out what everyone else knows, too: Bush was too incompetent to handle his daily toilet, much less an oil war that he lied to us to get us into. Bush should be impeached for lying us into war and Hilary would be an infinitely better president than neocon Bush. At least SHE has balls.
Voted : She should be held accountantable
One way and then the other and then...didn't work for anyone else who tried it, Hil.
Balls? Balls would have been to not going along with the Republicans or at the very least ask for evidence. We know she didn't get evidence because we know there WASN'T ANY! So what the hell were people basing their approval for this war on? Its a f#cking comedy what passes for governance.
She already accepted responsibility for endorsing something that turned out to be a mistake.
She should be held accountable for a mistake, but could she do worse than Bush?
^No. We all know want Bush did is worse quit trying to spin this.
