COMMENTS:
Voted : Secularism
Secularism is far superior to theocracy because in most secular states all human rights including freedom of religion are respect. All the modern Western democracies are Secular, none are a theocracy.Ofcourse you do have despotic Secular states like Iraq under Saddam Hussein or Nazi Germany but for the most part Secularism goes hand in hand with democracy.

Let someone like Osama bin Falwell or the Ayatollah Robertson dictate policy to me? Thank you, no.

I cannot support theocracy, it tramples on individualistic rights and equality before the law.

However, secularism can go too far. Banning Muslims from wearing headscarves at school for example- I oppose such a thing.

What I support more specifically is individual rights. The individual right to express their religious identity or lack of religious identity. It should be a two-way street. Another example- China is probably the most secular country in the world- and that in its own way is very horrific. The right to religious expression is trampled on.
