Dont think so. Truthfully I think its to set up bases to back Isreal and watch the real terrorist nations like Afghan and Iran. With Iraq we could be in the middle of all the terrorist nations and also back Isreal.
But like herzog said it would be good for interests in the region because we would be closer to the oil and make better friends with the nations nearby by aiding them so in so many years they would open up to America more.
Want the USA wants is a Puppet Government that they will be easy to control, to insure access to their oil reserves in the future.
What a waste it will be if their government collapses after we pullout and the country comes under the influence of Iran and extremists shouting "Death To America" after all our soldiers died.
