Sure. Every celebrity blames every asinine thing they do or say on "alcoholism". I doubt many of them are alcoholics. More likely they are just assholes.

Voted : No
He is a homophobic, not a drug addict. He is entitled to his belief's, no one should go into rehab because their views aren't similar to the rest of society. That seems to much like a police state to me.
by winston on Fri Feb 16, 07 10:52pm [+]

Sure. Sensitivity training would do it. He just needs to get in touch with his feelings.
by skylab on Sat Feb 17, 07 1:38am [+]

Voted : Send him to Key West
I think Hardaway should have a four-week regimen of permforming oral sex, three times a day, on Rev. Ted Haggard. That might do them both some good.

Voted : No
^Yeah I bet you would like to be in that mix eh cranky?

Anyway no Hardway should not go to rehab because he is not addictived to anything he is just a classic homophobic jock.He probably didn't want to apologize and was forced to by his manager.

He *could* be the NBA rep on Fire Island, though.

Corruupt:

I can't join in. My meth dealer's meth lab/trailer burned up about a month ago, so I don't have any drugs to contribute.

Reeducation camps for people who don't think right. . . something about that makes me uneasy.

He was wrong, what he believes is wrong, but he has the right to say it. And the only real punishment he should face should be criticism and being ostracized by his peers. Beyond that you can't punish a person for what they say. Otherwise Nagin, Sharpton, Jackson, and Byrd would be in permanent detention.
by herzog on Sat Feb 17, 07 6:30pm [+]

^Can't make a simple point without throwing in a racist smear. Ironically, he'd be worshipping Byrd if he was a Republican.

by cranky on Sun Feb 18, 07 8:11am [+]

Shut up cranky you God-damn moron. Where's the racism in Herzog's comment?
by funtastic on Sun Feb 18, 07 10:39am [+]

" Where's the racism in Herzog's comment?"

There was none, and when pressed for evidence to back their claims the people who make such accusations will usually resort to further name calling and ultimately storming off in a huff.
by herzog on Sun Feb 18, 07 4:23pm [+]

Well I can honestly say I feel sorry for you Herz. But at least pathetic pieces of crap like cranky give all sane people a laugh. Hear that Crank? You make me, and countless others SICK!
by funtastic on Mon Feb 19, 07 9:34am [+]

Herzog, You've asked several times for *evidence to back their claims*, so I'm posting this objectively to bring it to your attention, not subjectively to accuse you of being racist. As an unbiased observer, this is my perspective on the allegation that you're a racist.

There's no overt racism in reference to your comment *Otherwise Nagin, Sharpton, Jackson, and Byrd would be in permanent detention.*, but this is how I *interpret* it and any number of your previous posts :

The subject of this ballot is an Afro-American, three of the four subjects you mention are Afro-Americans, and the fourth, Senator Byrd, has a history of affilliation with the Ku Klux Klan. Based on this, I preceive the choice of the subjects you referenced in you're comment as prejudicial and *racially insensitive* since you could have used any number of foot in mouth candidates (including Pres. Bush). Though this is not a crime or direct evidence of racism, it is indicative of a racist's attitude and typical to subtle racism (an unfortunate pinning of history).
It's not uncommon for anyone to be racially insensitive at times, but the frequency of occurences in your comments and (alleged) ballots, are beyond the reasonable assumption that they are inadvertant, done in error, haste or absence of foresight. If you can just step back a moment and make an impartial assessment of this point of view, is it be unreasonable for someone to draw the conclusion that, at the least, *you are racially insensitive*?

BTW, I share the opinion that white guys often get a bad rap when it comes to racial issues, so between you and me, don't take it personal. I appreciate your indulgence and thank you for the audience my friend.

Passive: I picked those examples because they, in general and especially on this site, or typically let off the hook for their avid bigotry.

I suppose I could have said hitler, or fred phelps or david duke, but no one disputes their racism.

But when Nagin rails against whites living in his black city, or Jackson/Sharpton make derogatory comments about jews or Byrd attacks blacks routinely (but then becomes a democrat making it ok) they are completely let off the hook.

I am pointing out the blatant hypocrisy many on this site show, in addition to my point that racists should not go to reeducation camps. The people complaining about the "racism" of my comment would never demand those 4 racists I listed recieve any punishment for their bigotry, and let there be no doubt: they are very blatant racists. So that completely undermines their argument in favor of punishing this tim hardaway guy.
by herzog on Sat Feb 24, 07 11:33am [+]

Of course if anyone would like to not be a hypocrite and likewise demand that Mayor Nagin and the rest of that sorry bunch of racists be sent away to reeducation camps to make them think properly then go ahead, but none of them will, because they are above all things loyal to their founding ideals of hypocrisy and blatant double standards.

Fun: thanks, but honestly you ought to feel sorry for cranky. I simply ignore his childish tirades with a sort of mild contempt, and then go on to have meaningful debates with interesting people on here, and enjoy a fulfilling life outside of this site.

He obviously has very little going on outside of this site given the sheer amount of time he's dedicated to stalking me and the only attention he gets is negative.

Really he is a sad specimen, to be ignored or pitied.
by herzog on Sat Feb 24, 07 11:38am [+]

Thanks for the clarifacation Herz, I, for one, do not excuse the blantant disposition of anyone who is racist with knowledge and intent, such as Mr. Sharpton (who is racist preaching against racism) or Mr. Byrd.
I think your point was subversive and went unpreceived since you assert that their racism is in question, the point you intended is depreciated. Using racist's to front your point regarding free speech (though valid) doesn't do your argument justice.
I am not privy to the history or purpose of the situation with you and Cranky, nor do I want to be. I presented my reasoning for reference and appreciate the clarifacation.
