DO YOU THINK THERE ARE HAPPY LIVES, OR JUST HAPPY PEOPLE?

I have been spending a lot of time in rehab lately, and my life is interrupted for a while until I am strong enough to go back to school. I have met a lot of people who are ill and in pain, and who have suffered a great deal. Some of them are happy. I think there are more happy people at the rehab centre than at the university I went to before the accident. Some of those happy people at rehab are probably never going to get much better.

So I have been thinking, do you think there are people who are more prone to happiness than others, and that it doesn't matter if you are rich or beautiful or healthy?

But "JOY" comes from within.....
I think the terms you are really looking for are "joy" and "joyful". That means the person has an inner delight that stays on and is expressed even in bad times. "Happy" and "happiness" come from the work "happen" and these words simply mean the person is temporarily pleased that something "happened" their way.

So "happiness" really does come from outside things..."joy" comes from within.
