Because most of Canada is too cold to live in. Don't get me wrong, though. I love Canada.
by bostonian on Sat Jan 03, 04 5:07pm [+]

I was born in the U.S., where I still reside, and it is a good place to live. However, Canada is quite nice and I'm sure would also be a wonderful place to live. I guess it has to do with what you're looking for.

Come back to site after a while and the same shit is still being posted.
Well, the windchill in Winnipeg hit -45 today, so it's January.
Coldest day so far, so yeah it is cold here in the winter, but it's fucking hot here in the summer.
We say 'eh', we don't say dumb shit like "aboot".
And American NHL teams aren't the ones who win the Stanley Cup when an American team does, it was 17 russians and six canadians!

by operator on Mon Jan 19, 04 5:51pm [+]

Hi I am from PEI Canada and spent 2 years in ma. USA and Canada kicks major ass but the US is alright. And who hates canada why you assholes. I do say eh but not aboot. and i have convinced americans that the round hay bails in the white plastic (to protect from the weather) was a marshmallow farm. All in good fun of course.

PS Canada has a national conscience unlike america or should i point the finger at bush. Strictly for operation finish what daddy started (Iraqi freedom)

Canada, very clean, low crime, excect in minority areas

I would much rather live in the US. Americans are fun-loving, kind, and generous. Canadians are for the most part more self-riteous, bitter, and mean. Note to Canadians: Stop being so obsessed about my country. I know it is fascinating and all, but you really take it to the next step. Isn't life too short to be angry about a place that basically doesn't affect you. You need to get lives outside of what you think of your neighbor to the south.
by Lucky on Sun Mar 07, 04 5:15pm [+]

That is soo true, Lucky. Unfortunately it's a pastime that I find really embarrassing, because it seems to say to the rest of the world...."I'm Canadian and I define myself by razzing on Americans". It's the height of insecurity, IMO

I've occassionally thought of moving State-side, maybe the west coast, Northern California sounds real nice. Any one from there or been there? I'm just sick of these Canadian winters that can really depress the hell out of you after a while.
by um__yeah on Fri Apr 09, 04 4:07pm [+]

ATTA-BOY! to the post before mine. Canada is a fucking LAUGHING STOCK! Did you see when Conan O'Brien took his show up there to help their SARS ridden asses out? All of the guests were Canadians (Michael J Fox, Mike Myers, etc..) but they ALL had to fly up there from there PERMANANT RESIDENCIES in AMERICA to be there! What does that tell you? At LEAST when the Limeys make a few Dollars and flee England for the U.S. it's 'cause the taxman is on their heels, but Canada, they just want to get the hell out of that cold forrest! hahahaha

To those stupid cunts who posted about killing children for oil: If we took Iraq for their oil, why is it the price the HIGHEST it's EVER been? You fucking nut-sack, when your brain thaws (if you have one) from that artic WASTELAND of Middle-Easterns you live in, read a fucking book rather than give the pat response "America wants to take everybodys oil" Using your twisted logic the U.S. should invade the toilet to the north, we buy more oil from you than ANYONE else! The only reason your typing away on a computer made with an INTEL processor is because we buy your shitty oil. Lest you forget! Thank America, JEALOUSY doesn't become you!
by xxxxxxxx on Sun Apr 11, 04 9:29pm [+]

Why wouldnt our actors live in the states? Most still consider themselves Canadians they usally go down there so they wouldnt have to fly down to do a movie or living it up in holywood. Also way more americans take residence here thousands still come every year to this so called "ice box" They all say they got tired of United States. Some Americans are so rude no nothing about Canada or Canadians yet pretend they do and judge us.

"To those stupid cunts who posted about killing children for oil: If we took Iraq for their oil, why is it the price the HIGHEST it's EVER been?"

Well that's a pretty obvious answer. Oil is what runs the world. If oil supplies dwindle and no new major patches of oil are discovered for 15 years (which is currently happening), production will go down and oil prices will go up. That's common sense. If the United States were more concerned over people dying in the world than a puppet government in the middle east to supply them with oil, they would currently be in Africa where genocide, starvation and AIDS are taking place, not Iraq. Take the beer goggles off and open your eyes - the US is run by oil tycoons and is run more like a corporation than a country.
by Jigsaw on Sun Apr 11, 04 11:10pm [+]

FUCK YOU Jizimsaw! boo-fucking-hoo. I can't help it that you're Canadian anymore than you can! the U.S. RULES the world, so if oil runs the world you'd be the first shitty country we'd take it from! Proximity my boy, proximity!
by xxxxxxxx on Mon Apr 12, 04 2:54am [+]

american_empire: I'd call you a fucking idiot but I don't have to. You pretty well prove it with each and every post.

...and why not back up your insults with an arguement instead of acting like a 3 year old. I'm surprised you left poo-poo head out of that.

um_yeah - I used to live near Northern California (So Oregon). The weather can be crummy at times (rains too much on the coast), but summers are very warm and sunny and winters are quite mild. In S California San Diego is probably the best place weatherwise. It has some of the best weather anywhere (always sunny and warm), and it doesn't have the riff-raff LA does. Palm Springs is a gorgeous town, although its a bit far from the beach. It is a desert town, but very nice looking and has a great atmosphere about it.

Yea, the Genocide going on in Africa that was ordered by a Canadian oil company. " Talisman Energy of Canada " Don't be talking about us, when your corrupt wanna be government is doing it for real. Canada has known what Talisman is doing in Sudan for years, yet do nothing to stop it. Go kill a bunch more babies, just to run them out of their homes and keep complaining about Americans, but isn't that the Canadian way? You want us to stop the Genocide in Sudan? I know I do. I think we should march right up there and turn Canada into a vast wasteland. ( If there actually is a part that isn't already a waste land ) Then the Genocide in Sudan would be over, because there wouldn't be anyone to pay the Sudanese Army to commit the Genocide!

Hmm interesting, can you point me to a website about this?
by Jigsaw on Mon Apr 12, 04 8:27pm [+]

I did find some information on this, however nothing concrete. Very interesting. Let it be known though, a company breaking the law does not represent the country it originates from by any means. Just like a murderer does not represent everyone from his/her country. A government does.
by Jigsaw on Mon Apr 12, 04 8:33pm [+]

Nice play on words. What exactly would you like me to back up? Supply and demand theory? I can find lots of sources for that. People dying in Africa? Sure, here you go, right out of the CIA's World Factbook:

Percentage of population with AIDS/HIV:

South Africa: 20.1%
Botswana: 38.8%
Zimbabwe: 33.7%
Zambia: 21.5%
Mozambique: 13%
Swaziland: 33.4%
Namibia: 22.5%
Angola: 5.5%
Republic of the Congo: 7.2%
Democratic Republic of the Congo: 4.9%

What else would you like?
