No. I don't think you realize what you're asking. How do you propose the world go back to the Gold standard? Do you think there is enough Gold to back up the world's assets? Hardly. Unless of course you're proposing major mining operations to get more gold. But then what about the environment :)

The gold standard made more sense in the 19th century, when money was printed by local banks and could become worthless when the bank went bankrupt if not backed by gold or silver.
