Well, let's first admit that the timetable/war funding connection has no chance of passing the Senate or overcoming a Presidential Veto. Still, it we were able to impose a timetable, would it help or hinder efforts to end the Iraq war?

Definitely help 38%
Don't know 28%
Who cares 19%

I think it's the best that can be done. Iraq needs to govern itself at some point.

We definately need something concrete like this. The sense of endlessness we are feeling now leaves us so uncertain, we are fodder for more terrorism, even of our own imagining.

If someone has a better suggestion than a timetable I would love to hear it. Our options are limited.

I think we've established that this land is not fertile soil from which Democracy is going to sprout and flower. Plus we don't give a shit about the Iraqis. For every American soldier killed there a minimum of twenty Iraqi civilians are killed. But who cares, right? They're just collateral damage in our righteous war against the forces of evil aligned against us.

I think it would be idiotic to impose a timetable that causes all of our military to withdraw overnight. Something like a phased withdrawal seems the best option; but the point is that it's going to happen. It's just a question of when. -Certainly not as long as our power-mad flagsucking President is in office. What's that? 30% approval rating and the man still sits on top of the highest ivory tower in the entire fucking WORLD??? How are we supposed to spread Democracy if our own is so far from representative?
