Actually Mojo I think some early american films are absolutely classic myself. But not any more. American films seem to have an edge that suggests americans think they rule the world. That the world "is" america. But it's not and i resent the intrusion. But yes the films up to the 50's and one or two beyond were cracking. That one with bette davis stands out to me. "whatever became of baby jane" haunting. :D
