COMMENTS:
I think that's pretty amazing - in our last election here, only 64.7% turned up, and the highest percentage ever on record was in April 8, 1963 when the turn out was 79.2%. I think that was the election between Pearson and Diefenbaker... way before my time.
our turnout of 64.7% was of those who registered I bet the actual turnout for people eligible to vote was like 25% or something pitiful like that. I've seen here at B&W people who fight about politics for years admit to not even voting. Every single person who can be bothered to cast a vote, no matter who they want to elect, is worth more than those who can't be bothered.

Jyl, I was talking about Canadian elections. I don't know what the voter turnout is like in the US.
Voted : 84.6
Impressive.
Jyl What if none of the parties is even remotely worth voting for?
Canada, I see! Years ago (back when I made a ballot here about it) I looked into our percentage eligible vs. registered vs. actually voted but I don't remember the numbers. It was pretty shameful though, I remember that.
