"innocent until proven guilty" that's not the reason. the tv stations are afraid of getting sued. Those Duke Lacrosse players didn't get that courtesy, did they?

so, after they are proven guilty, it should be okay to show their faces?

If it's a security tape and it's being used to find a suspect, they do show the faces. With other cases, it's usually just a matter of privacy. A criminal/suspect (or his attorney) can request that his face not be shown. As can anyone else.
Voted : Simple, innocent until proven guilty in a court of law
nope. all citizens have rights and that includes criminals. be grateful.
it also has more to do with not prejudicing a jury. if the tape is of them allegedly doing the crime they're faces are obscured -- that may not be the case in court, but prior to their time in court, it's partially to protect their right to a fair and impartial trial, which relates to jury selection. if they aired it prior to trial, potential jurors chould see it.
Maybe lawbreakers are in a hurry for some reason, which would explain the blur?
