NYC MAYOR MIKE BLOOMBERG QUITS REPUBLICAN PARTY

[+] serious ballot by Kev24
created Wed Jun 20, 07
mike bloomberg, who used to be a democrat and then became a republican, has been a great mayor. he's very intelligent and is a long-term thinker. yesterday he announced he was severing his ties with the republican party.

some say this means he will run for president -- he says he is not running.

when you listen to this man talk, it's evident that he cares about the future of this country --- his country. he's also someone who for the most part, keeps true to his words.

what do you think his decision to quit the republican party means?

he's just fed up with the republican party 6
Never trust a billionaire 5
he's running for president 2
He's a liberal in conservative's clothing 0

COMMENTS:
he also said that all of the candidates and pretty much our whole government is lost. they give nothing but lip service and are too controlled by special interest groups. he's right.

his warning? that if things don't change, we will lose our lead in science, technology, medicine, economics and culturally.

he's right. so how about we throw out the useless goverment we have now and find one that will not be whores to foreign powers and special interest groups?

He's just doing his part to make sure that Hillary Clinton gets sworn in. It's all been planned out.

Voted : He's a liberal in conservative's clothing
He was never a Republican anyway. If he runs for president, he'll take votes away from the Democrats - NOT the Republicans, like many people think.

Is he an independent now? Maybe he's just fed up with all the partisan BS on both sides.
by nuckinfutz on Wed Jun 20, 07 4:57pm [+]

he was a republican bostonian. officially. he ran for mayor and won 2 terms as a republican. and you're wrong -- he won't take votes away from the democrats because he was a democrat first. not getting your logic on that one at all. and what's this "like many people think" phrase? he only announced it yesterday. stick to boston politics.

"He's a liberal in conservative's clothing"

so you won't mind when we say that joe lieberman is a conservative republican in liberal clothing? good.

He's a legend. He'll split the GOP vote before he inevitably pulls out of the race. I guess he sees that as the best chance of 'securing' candidacy, just like Ross.

I like what I've heard about him. He's a can-do guy, with a social conscience, and is fiscally responsible. I'd vote for him over anyone else in the running at the present time . . . with the exception of Ron Paul, another Republican.

He'd make a great president. Hes's already got the lobbists connections.

Kev24, I meant to say "He was never a REAL Republican anyway."

"and what's this "like many people think" phrase? he only announced it yesterday. stick to boston politics." - Kev24 -

Yeah, no kidding he only announced it yesterday. Welcome to the 21st Century. There's political commentary on every issue 24 hours a day. And don't tell me what to do!
