Did he call and cancel? I don't know, it's possible he did and forgot, but that's not the point, her behavior was totally unprofessional and disrespectful. When he said he didn’t cancel she should have realized because of his age, he may have forgotten and either fit him in that day or scheduled another appointment, very simple solution for this situation
ohhh great, let it pass being voted on, I feel guilty she lost her job, thanks for making me feel even more so.
^although I did ask, hmmmm, I don't know.

I doubt it was the first time she did that. BTW, that kind of behavior would get anyone fired - usually on the spot. Don't worry about it. She needed a sharp kick in her ass too.

larry, you did the right thing. Myself, I might have gotten equally vocal with her, which wouldn't have solved anything. She might've been having a bad day, yes, but it doesn't entitle her to take out her frustrations on others. If you want respect, you have to give respect.
I would have done the same thing. She was out of line. She may have been a chronic bitch or just having a bad day, and even if it was just bad day that doesn't justify flying off the handle like that. She deserved to be let go.

I never have days that bad. She sounds like a jerk.
If you threw water on her she might melt.

always let the people in charge know. it's not your fault that she wasn't good at her job. she needs more people skills if she wants to be a receptionist. that's why I work in a small room all by myself

Yeah, you did the right thing Larry. She's lucky you didn't squeeze her round the windpipe. Family or not, she was a c*nt, and deserved all she got. People aren't usually sacked for one complaint. She's obviously had other complaints made about her, so I wouldn't waste your time worrying about the ol' boot. ;o)

"If you threw water on her she might melt" lol at skylab! You did the right thing Larry.
good for you larry. you were totally in the right. next time just bitch slap a slag like that. they're pretty much worthless crap anyway. bravo for you.

Same as you, larry. So what if your complaint got her fired? She should have had more sense than to talk that disrespectful to a patient. That's her problem. She has no business working in a doctor's office if she doesn't know how to relate to people. My mother has gotten a small handful of people fired at the nursing home that my grandmother is in. And it's great! So what if they're out of a job now? Boo freakin' hoo! When they learn to treat the people they're caring for with more respect and dignity, they'll quit having people complain about them and getting them fired. Very simple really. There's not much I can't stand more than disrespect towards the elderly.
