in Mojave County, Arizona, when the jail was full, they started locking them up outside in tents.

in 120F weather.

Being a drunk driver, cokehead, robber, rapist and pickpocket, I don't want to commit crimes in Arizona.

Where can I go where I get slap on the wrist, and told not to be naughty, for commiting serious crimes and being a general asshole?

oh, and when the animal shelter was overcroweded, the sheriff started housing them in the air conditioned jail cells, and put more inmates outside in tents.

His logic : the animals didn't commit any crimes.

That much shit happens around our way that most people get away with a suspended sentence. We sort of police ourselves. All you need is a few people who can handle themselves, and who have morals, and you're laughin' ;o)

Come to Texas. Or most any place for that matter. California or Hollywood doesn't have a copyright on light justice.

My neighbor (with a large criminal record) confessed to me six months ago about being arrested for his 3rd DWI in as many months. He never served over two days in jail. Why he's still out on the streets, I only have my theories. It's not like our jails are full. We've got so much space that we take in inmates from the neighboring county.

Then there's the two guys who assaulted, robbed, and kidnapped me years ago while I was at work. They could have gotten life in prison for that, but instead got 10 years because they pleaded guilty. And both of them were out on parole and/or probation for previous sexual assaults.
