I find it happens less now than it did just a few years ago. Most companies like Micky D's and B.K. have complaint lines. And they don't fall on deaf ears. The will go way out of the way to discipline the employee.

After walking out, while loudly calling any friends who might frequent the place and telling them to boycott if.

Don't go back and take your business elsewhere. Then call the management and tell them you were doing so and why. UncleRandy's right. It doesnt fall on deaf ears as much as people think it does. At least not when dealing with management with any intelligence. I've seen alot actually appear concerned. And then there's some with a superiority complex who thinks they can do no wrong and anyone with a complaint can shove it. The latter usually find their sales dropping before too long.
Voted : Buy food to go from their competitor and eat it in their dining area
Don't forget to make a mess.
I recently stopped in at a McDonald's in Vail, Colorado and was not very pleased with the place. It was dirty around the drink machines, the restrooms were nasty and every person working there was speaking in Spanish to each other and could hardly communicate with me. McDonald's sure isn't my kind of place anymore.
