ACTIVE Nov 08,2007 - Fri Nov 07, 08
suppose there is guy who got sent to jail for some crime he did not commit.

he escaped from jail, and he got 10 years more.
he was in a jailhouse fight, and killed an inmate, and got 30 years more.

after all that, he is found innocent in the initial charges.

if he wasn't sent to jail, he would have never commited those crimes.

what should be done with him?

charge him with murder 5
charge him with escape and murder 5
set him free 4
two wrongs, don't make a right 0

COMMENTS:
Voted : charge him with escape and murder
Hate to seem merciless, but I've had several family members who've doen time, and two who still are. They both know that, when you're in there, you keep your nose clean and strive not to get into trouble.

Voted : charge him with murder
... unless the murder was in self defence.

Voted : charge him with escape and murder
^ Agreed.

A friend of mine's father did time in prison for either theft or hot checks. I can't remember exactly but it was non-violent. He wound up dying in there because while in there he got into fights, stole, attacked guards, did drugs, and was rather nasty at every parole hearing. He wound up aquiring more time while in prison than what he got for the crime that got him in there in the first place.

Being falsely accused is not an excuse for commiting later crimes.

Voted : two wrongs, don't make a right
That's what my Mom always said.
I agree with all the above.

Voted : set him free
I gotta disagree with you here.

remember the movie where Harrison
Ford was wrongly accused?

He escaped, stole a vehicle, assaulted a police officer, and a long list of other crimes, just to prove himself innocent.

When you throw an innocent man into a prison, you create a monster sometimes. if I catch an animal, put them in a small cage and poke them repeatedly with a pointy stick, do you blame the animal for going crazy and attacking its captor?

of course that's just my opinion.

The Fugitive makes for great TV/Movie drama. But that's not the real world.
