Voted : Yes
well, it's not necessarily a "good idea" but it's a right of every human beings to know where they came from.

if a child wants to know who created them, they should be given the information, especially when someone has that information.

Only until the adopted child is of legal age, and then there would still be circumstances in some cases where identities should not be known. There are alot of kids out there who would be fine in knowing who their biological parents are, as well as their biologigal parents getting to know them and who adopted them. And that's fantastic. But there's also people out there with malicious intent. Adoptions don't always go smoothly. Parents can be very protective and can do anything to get their child back, even if it's a child that got taken away because they drugged or beat him/her 15 years ago.

Telling the child, when they're ready to know, who their biological parents are without disclosing locations shouldn't be a problem under most circumstances. But with regards to the safety of the child and his adoptive family, there are some situations where the biological parents should know absolutely nothing.

But they should not be "open to the public" without carefully weighed decision makers or the knowledge of those effected by their content especially those under the age of consent...
