MY COUNTRY IS PURE AND VIRTUOUS AND WITHOUT PROBLEMS.

Well, isn't it? The reason for this ballot is one of my previous ballots was about a particular news story that is current and was posted within the last day. It was about a proposed plan in Great Britain to implant tracking devices under the skin.

While at no time did the ballot infer national identities or infer that one country over another was treading into dangerous territory as it related to chip implants, I'm sorry to say that a couple of people chose to make the ballot about an "us versus them" type of situation. Why?

I can't understand why people are so obsessed with the attitude of "well yeah, things are atrocious in my country, but HEY!!! look at YOUR country!!" How pathetic is that?

In my opinion, it is why we are in the mess we're in. Has it alwasy been that way? Has this absurd and immature competition of "well our situation may suck, but at least we're not YOU!" always been the case?

In my opinion, I think FACTS show us that no governemnt...no ruling body, is without blood on its hands, In my estimation, we're all in very big trouble and as time goes by, each day, we lose more and more of our rights. So why do people feel the need to take a factual news story and deflect from that story and make it about something totally inconsequential?

It just seems to me that if everyone focused on what they CAN influence in their OWN country, things might turn around. Instead, it's a constant battle of wills and image and words that just makes it all seem childish.

So will someone please tell me: has it always been this way and if so, are we all just doomed to being herded and tracked like Cattle, since no one seems to care about the issues at hand....globally!

Whether you're American, Canadian, French, Italian, Russian, Chinese, English...what the heck? Why does every news story that involves the trampeling of our basic human rights have to be about national identities? It just seems to me that on BestandWorst, there are those Americans that have to be like "Ahhhh-ha! See, it's terrible in YOUR country too!" And then it seems that British people do the same thing.

Why aren't people all over the world saying "Oh man! We are ALL so scr*ed!" It really worries me. Facts are facts and know no origins of national identity.

It used to bug me, I made several ballots on it, can't say anything without someone saying "But look what your country is doing" as if two wrongs make a right. if someone wants to make a separate ballot on what they perceive is wrong about my country, feel free to do so, is what I always said.

Well, if the shoe fits.

Thanks Larry. That's how I feel too. Maybe things are different now? I don't know. But I'm with you. It's almost like some people can't address the over-riding main issue and have to make it about the country and not the event or the facts. Who cares if it's happening in England, or the United States, or China or where ever...it's happening every where! Is't that more important?

I suppose it’s the opposite attitude to ‘the grass is always greener on the other side.’
A current lack of brilliance in the world has led to society’s celebrating of the mediocre. Stupid patriots proudly proclaim that their country is the greatest because it is not as shit as all the other countries in the world. I find it very amusing.
