FOREIGN FLAGS ON OUR SOIL

[+] serious ballot by patch22us

I guess I've been more observant than usual today. I saw a group of trucks on CPS this morning. They were construction trucks and the name of the company was distincly Italian. All of the trucks had an Italian flag flying by the antena.

I think flags are kind of absurd anyway, but it got me to thinking. How come no one makes a big deal that the Italian and Irish flags are regularly flown in this country, but if it were Mexican flags, like those carried during immigration protests, why do so many people flip out over that? Is it really racism?

People get hostile over the Mexican flag because they're somewhat bigoted 6
People like the Italian and Irish flags because Italians and Irish people are usually white 1
Those people are probably part italian or irish 0
Some people read too much into cloth symbols of other coutries 0

COMMENTS:
Choice 1 actually means the people who don't like the Mexican flag are somewhat bigoted...not the people carrying the Mexican flag. Just wanted to clarify.

I never heard of a bunch of crazy dagos or micks tearing down the U.S. flag and then put up a foreign flag over a U.S. post office. 017

we should roll up all the flags and stick them up the neitherregions of all those who spew racist dribble.

Yes, but in all fairness Beelzebubba, that was for dramtics only and the picture has been debunked. I am not at all defending the actions of some, but you have to admit: fly the Italian or Irish flag and people celebrate and cheer. A Mexican even dares to show his or her flag and Americans go crazy. What's with that?

But anyway, flags should be done away with and all we need is a white flag with the name of the nation on it. Flags cause wars.

There's Mexican, Spanish, and French flags flying all over the place in Texas and most don't care. It's a way of respecting and/or acknowledging the fact that we were once part of those nations. There's even a Mexican, French, and Spanish flag mounted on the inside of the Alamo, and at most places that have anything to do with Texas history.

It's just a symbol. If someone wants to read more than that into it, that's their problem.
