This stuff works wonders on everything!
Voted : Zep 40
The techs use Zep 40 (comes in a big spray can) at work to clean up the glass on dirty slot machines. I use it on our office window and I also have used it to clean up grape koolaide I sometimes spill on my desk. It takes the dark stains out right away. I don't know if it will work for you, but I hope it does. It won't melt plastic. Or try a vandalism mark remover spray. Now that WILL melt plastic.
the window is tempered glass, by the way. I tried the orange cleaners and windex, and they don't seem to work. water spot's mineral, so I doubt that degreasers would work.

This usually can be found at the big chain home improvement stores.

I kid you not. Spread a thin layer, then wipe it off. (Does aura work again?)

It may not remove the spots, but it's for a good cause.
We can still earn aura? How else?
Janvil Glass Restoration or Janvil Glass Revival. I will give you the link to their site in private messages since, I believe, you asked for no links in the comments.
Here: 1. Spray a liberal amount of window cleaner on the windshield and scrub it with a terry cloth rag. 2. Wet a fine steel wool pad with water. Rub it on your windshield in small circles. Work a small area at a time. 3. Follow up with another good scrubbing with window (scrub) cleaner. You can find one at an auto parts store. From ehow.com
as far as I know, aura works now. I spent a good weekend trying to rewrite it, and then announced it for a week that it worked.... well, I will try vinegar first, since I have that, I don't want to use steel wool because it will scratch up the glass I think... I thought vaseline was a joke :)

I saw a commercial on TV about this product called CLR, apparantly it removes calcium, lime and rust. I tend not to believe stuff advertised on tv. has anyone tried this stuff, and will it work on water stains on glass?

I use this regularly on faucets and showerheads. It's worth a try on glass. Note: Do NOT mix CLR with bleach or you will create a poisonous choking gas. I had to evacuate my house once.

Any Calcium / Lime remover will do the trick. CLR is just one of the Name Brands out there.

The most effective way? Hire someone to do it? :)
