The 800 pound gorila in the room seems to be run away costs related to energy, the necessary ingredient to power the economy. More and more people are realizing just how this one resource impacts on practically everything else... oil, one of the primary sources of energy has changed many taken for granted habits and lifestyles due to exorbitant pricing with no end currently in sight. Without swift action to avoid a total calamity, or alternative sources of energry used in a more prominent fashion, do you think these costs may ultimately be the downfall of this Country ?

Energy costs will be the downfall of the U.S.A. 4
Energy costs will not be the downfall of the U.S.A. 2
New, safe sources of energy must be "deployed" before it's too late 1

COMMENTS:
Voted : Energy costs will be the downfall of the U.S.A.
We (the USA) could have started down the road of Hydrogen fuel and / or Electric fuel source for vehicles years ago. But we did not. Now it will bite us in the ass.
Our delay in development will cost us all here and across the pond a pretty penny, until we build a vehicle that can move our transport goods across the highways economically
