I think its important to note that even if God didn't exist people would still believe in him. It is natural for us to believe that something greater than us exists. That is the main force that guides us and pushes us to grow and change. We want to be god, lets not try and deny such a thing. It is simple fact. We want to know that we can do the undoable, that nothing is impossible and in so doing know that we live for the greatest purpose that something can live for. To know the answer to a question like the one said above. It cant be answered until we get to that point in an accurate and truthfull manner, any attempts before must fail. - this is just lazyness and I dont feel like really tackling the issue right now
Even if you can prove that God created the universe, it doesn't mean that he's:
a) Still alive
b) Still cares
c) Is still "good"

We really can not 'know' much about "GOD".. none of the religions of Earth accurately depict that which He really is.. it may be necessary to think like an intelligent objective extraterrestial to approach some true understanding of that which really is GOD.. IT really is not 'critical' of us humans, we are simply to be the very humans possible, to succeed, progress, improve everything, achieve health and happiness, and some measure of superconsciousness perhaps..!?

I don't know if there is anything after death. I don't know if there's a god, and I sure don't believe we humans are advanced enough to understand it in case there is one.
I do know being an atheist doesn't make you a bad person. And if your god should condamn someone to hell just for not believing in him, I have no reason to worship such an entity.

This is earth, not heaven. Bad things are going to happen, there's nothing to do about it. Earth is not a perfect place and was not created to be one.
I'm an agnostic, in the sense that I think it's impossible for anyone to ever be able to demonstrate any knowledge of any divine force or forces in the universe. There are over 10,000 known religions and none of them really agree on the essentials. Certainly, not even the 3 most closely related, Abrahamic religions, Christianity, Judaism, and Islam. Within the ranks of each, they are divided up into mutually suspicious bickering sects, and, across the three, there are profound differences, regardless of what their apologists say. Buddhism and Hinduism are off the Abrahamic map and have *nothing* in common.
Believe whatever it is you believe but be tolerant and don't force your beliefs on others either personally, socially, or through government. Then, we might actually get along with holy wars of one kind or the other.
Then, we might actually get along WITHOUT holy wars of one kind or the other. (-:

God is just an idea that people will never stop fighting over. There are thousands definitions of "God", some that think there are several gods, or no God. It's a concept that has some use (scapegoat, "holier than you", non-believers=why things go wrong, making money, etc). etc etc "god" is just something you waste time on: you can't prove and you can't disprove but it the end it doesn't matter... etc, etc.
Those who just believe in "God" are ok. But religious believers are vermin and should die.
If we were supposed to know if God existed, we'd know it by now.

If There is a God, by conception of there being only and assuming that he created himself or always was when there was no universe around him at the dawn of existance, Why would he allow us the ape ant of truly suggnifigant intelligance to kill each other the unproven thought of his very concern that we choose to worship or not without any proof that he or she or it or they, know we exist at all? There is Energy and matter, the knowledge of life being that through science regardless of faith. Even if there is no god, there must be a center of the universe at least, and we know of life and our ensueing death no matter how we attempt to prolong it. There for I suspect that the real question remains that, when we die, is there really a soul which lives on and is reborn through reincarnation or free from the body saying there is something more, or maybe nothing at all. No matter what your faith maybe, or that which you've personally accepted to replace that word's meaning, we must all at least know of the importance of actually real science, the mental importance of religion and that it is completely fucking Foolish to murder someone using that difference in a group or individual as an excuse. Whatever it is, the debate on God or what God is if indeed he exists dispite what we may all think of Him, Her, It, Or they to be is still a topic of importance to mankind.

By the way, What would God's Religion actually be, I Like to think sometimes that it would be interesting if He,She,It, Etc. was actually an Atheist.
