Is faith alone enough to get a person into heaven?

Suppose a person goes to church every Sunday, but fails in the good deed department. Or what about the person who never attends church, yet they have a good heart and perform good deeds when the opportunity arises?

Voted : Good deeds
If it is trusting faith(not just mere factual faith) in Jesus but not going to church-a good heart doing good deeds could be a part of faith, then this could be it. Going to church do not make one a christian like going to a garage make one a car.

Voted : Good deeds
Good deeds are a product of an active faith in goodness for its own sake. An active faith produces an act of faith.

You can be religious but not faithful. So it is the good deeds that are symptoms of true faith.
Beneficial deeds done for selfish gain, though, do not qualify because faith in goodness is not the motivator.

All IMO, of course.

The second person will have more friends and a more fulfilling life here on earth, where it actually counts, not in some imaginary cocktail party in the sky.

Voted : Good deeds
It's a way of walking, not a way of talking.
One would lead to the other, but action speaks louder than words.
No if you believe in god your life is already planned out. God knows exactly what is going to happen to you and you have no choice in the matter because god is omnipresent.

God can't be wrong nor can he be argued with on this.

So you get into heaven based on a set of perameters god already knows. so before you are born he already knows if you are going to heaven or hell....

WHAT AN ABSOLUTE BASTARD!!

Good or bad, when you get to heaven how are you going to feel about knowing millions of people are going through eternal torture just because they simply didn't believe. Will that make you feel pious?

^that's one of my biggest problems with organized religion, those I love who are not all saintly, but are good and caring people, will burn in hell while some self righteous gay bashing person in Alabama will according to scripture spend eternity in paradise. the same goes for some Jews in Israel and Muslims in KSA. Organized religion believes only a select group make it to heaven.
^biggest problem "I HAVE" with organized religion
^and yes you can bash without judging, you just quote vs from the Bible, Quran or Torah
^ What happens when we die happens to all of us. Any other way of looking at it is self delusional. To follow the bible means to be a monster.
