Don't get me wrong, I know my question makes me sound like a jilted girlfriend, but I'm actually a man myself. I'm just curious how some of the brightest minds and guys that seem to have the most upright character get caught up in stupid scandals like the following:

Bill Clinton used the Oval Office for his own desires with Monica Lewinsky. He first lied, but admitted it when proof was presented.

Senator John Edwards cheated on his wife with a campaign worker. He used more than $ 1 million dollars in campaign contributions in an effort to cover the affair. He has been indicted and faces a long prison term if convicted.

Former Governor of New York Eliot Spitzer cheated on his wife several times with a $ 1000 an hour prostitute. Due to threats of impeachment by state lawmakers, he resigned as governor. His wife blamed herself for his cheating, saying it was her fault and that she was inadequate.

Former Governor of California Arnold Schwarzenegger cheated on his wife with their maid, an affair which produced a child. He secretly supported the maid and the child financially for years. After leaving office, Schwarzenegger announced what he had done, he and his wife separated, and she filed for divorce.

Champion golfer Tiger Woods had affairs with at least a dozen mistresses, including a couple of pornstars; Holly Sampson and Joslyn James. Also among his mistresses was his 21 year old neighbor who he knew since she was 14. His wife promptly divorced him and received $750 million in divorce settlements. He also lost about $35 million a year in endorsement deals.

The host of 'To Catch a Predator' Chris Hansen who worked with a group to catch online sexual predators was caught by hidden camera cheating on his wife. 51 year old Hansen was caught cheating with a news anchor 20 years younger than him. It begs the question, "How can a man who stood up so strongly for family values justify abusing the honor of his marriage to his wife and the role of father to his kids?"

A man knows that is unethical to cheat on his wife. It's the moral man that does not.

It's a rebellious reaction to learning that they missed the good old boy days by one or two generations. They are pissed because the world gave everything to their dads and granddads. But now the world makes them share the goodness of life with women on an equal footing. Men are no longer automatically granted a "fall woman" to boss around, be served by, and blame when things go wrong. Their mottoes seem to be,
I'll do whatever I want because I was cheated."

Thanks for the answers. It's ridiculous how rampant these cases are, especially guys in the spotlight. They have to know they'll be found out, it's like they're just waiting to get caught.
