It seems like the opposite is actually true there, big shot. We're open to different opinions, just as long as they're presented with respect and intelligence, both of which are major liberal values. I hope you realize that liberals do want what's best for America, as do most conservatives -- I'd imagine you do, bush04, and I do too.

In my experience in real life, Conservatives are the most violent, unless you count Black liberals, who sadly are the most violent group in the nation. I'm all for Black eugenics and advancement of colored people, but the current situation is grim... anyways, conservatives are the most blockheaded by far.

I don't agree with everything Jannine says on this website, but I have to agree with her on this. USA's problem with terrorism isn't the so-called liberal Christians, Muslims, Jews or whatever. It's the conservative traditional
fundamentalist whackos that stir up crap for the rest of us. Osama Bin Laden used to be a guy who followed Western culture, but then he became a whacked out Muslim conservative terrorist. Tim McVeigh was another example. He read a book called the Turner Diaries, which was by another right wing loon. Look at what Falwell and Robertson, Dumb and Dumber, said about the 9-11 attacks, blaming them on feminists,
unions, and other easy targets for their religious rhetoric. The left wing is bad in certain areas, like being too lax in terms of certain laws, but generally, it's the right
wing that is responsible for a lot of the shit. Fiscally conservative, but socially liberal is probably the way to go, but Bush has it backwards.
He's fiscally liberal and socially conservative, unaware of the changing times. Even though the USA is a puritanical society by most standards, they are not quite as prudish as they were in the past I hope. The liberals never tried to keep the right wing conservatives down as much as the conservatives have done to the liberals.

The proper thing to do is instead of a recount have another vote in Florida, and have the incumbent President, Clinton, in this case, hold on to the office, until the results of the vote are finalized.
Where is the democracy in allowing 9 US Supreme Court justices decides who
will receive the electoral votes in Florida, instead of the Florida voters?
Look at fundamentalist
religious types. The progressive ones are the liberals in places like Iran. It's the conservative clerics in places like Iran that want
to prevent people from living in a free and open
society. Places like Jordan and Kuwait have modern thinking liberal Muslim leaders. USA's so-called greatest threats
to their security are run by despots who generally fly to the right. Hitler hated Democrats, Communists, unions and feminists, so despite
the moniker, the Nazis were really closer to the
right than the left on the political spectrum.
