COMMENTS:
creationism is in the dust bin with other religious nut thinking like the earth is the center of the universe, earth is flat, witchcraft, and the earth is only a few thousand years old, ... it is amazing though that people still make themselves feel significant by holding on to these childish myths.

evolution is a fact

All you people who say the big bang diddn't happen know absolutley nothing about it. Scientists have detected large ammounts of background radiation which could only have come from a MASSIVE explosion. The static in your TV and radio comes from ths radiation.

Darwin has been dead for a good many years, Guest af326. However, his theory is still alive and well. And I'll be happy to explain any "primary mechanisms" of evolution you're having trouble getting a handle on. :-)

Words, language, tends to be confusing. A scientific Theory is NOT the same thing as a common, ordinary, everyday, stupid, popular 'theory'.!! There's No comparison at all. A scientific Theory is based on Intelligence, a reasonable understanding of the facts. A popular 'theory' is no more than an opinion, a point of view, an idea, a notion, a belief. Science is good. The scientific method is good. A scientific Theory is of infinitely more value than your dumbass ignorant everyday 'theory', and Far more valuable than any mere "belief", 'religious' or otherwise..!!
There Was evidentally at one time a Cosmic Sphere or Comic Sun, Cosmic Egg? which EXPLODED an Threw its Substance Into SPACE, went Nova, so to speak, i.e. the humorous expression "Big Bang".!!
[WHENCE this "Cosmic Sphere" one wonders..?! Who knows..!!].
So in the course of Natural events.. subtle intelligence Inherent in Everything.. consolidated and developed? evolved? into higher and Higher Intelligence: voila', The GOD, and or The Gods, or Whatever..!! (-:
MOST things in The Universe are, evidentally, Natural, automatic, simple cause and effect, logical, understandable, beautiful.. However, The hypothetical GOD and or Gods could have? maneuvered things, energy and matter, into the forming of a plantetary system in the right place with the right materials.. to support and develop an interesting balanced biosphere: Earth..!!
The purpose: something to do, something interesting to do, express creativity, a fine experiment, have fun, modify, enjoy, observe, develop, support, help, understand..!!
As for additional purposes, who can say..!!
[This is a fun story, but it almost feels like Inspiration..!! (-:
Keep up the good work, Humans..!! (-:

The original concept of the Big Bang Theory came about due to the red-shifting of light that showed up when obseerving very distant stellar objects, and this is the ONLY evidence for the expansion of the universe, but it can be explained to be more due to distance, gravitional lensing from the objects passed along the way, and dust reducing the energy of the light and thus reducing it's frequency wave. Otherwise, light would be breaking the laws of thermodynamics. 30 physicists earlier this year got together and went puiblic to dismiss the idea of the BIg Bang for this very reason. The background radiation that you mention really doesn't follow the predicted patterns that were expected as evidence of the Big Bang either, and the Big Bang proponents are still struggling to come up with yet another "bandaid theory" for that difference. The other problem with the Big Bang Theory is assumption of the supernatural solid that has potential for infinite temperature and infinite mass. Pure logic declares such an idea to be ludicrous when it goes against every other element of the scientific paradigm - but so do Black Holes with the concept of "Physical Laws breaking down" - that's just another silly rabbit out of the hat argument that falls flat and shows that at the very heart of the scientific paradigm is a lot of irrational mumbo-jumbo. Then we can look at what was discovered by the Hubble Space Telescope that still hasn't been explained away, but has simply been ignored by the Big Bang proponets; there are many stars that are OLDER THAN THE UNIVERSE is supposed to be. While the current date of the Big Bang proponents claim the Universe is around 12 billion years old, there are stars around that are 100 billion years old - this little fact is conveniently shoved under the carpet and ignored in the usual way; "Don't mention anomalies that go against dogma."
