STATE OF NEWS MEDIA 2004 - WHAT DO YOU THINK?

A new report on the state of the New Media says there seems to be an emphasis on disseminating the news rather than collecting it. It seems more important to repeatedly play the same chaotic, partial and jumbled footage than to order the information, even less to synthesize it.

This report also quotes - Those who would manipulate the press and public appear to be gaining leverage over the journalists who cover them.

COMMENTS:
The modern news is a complicated arena, particularly with television. Anyone will argue that their favorite show or station is unbiased, but if you watch enough, you will definitely notice certain patterns of what stations choose to report, and how they report it.
