I'm afraid not, the fault line is too pronounced, when it happens, half the island will just plop into the atlantic. The west African coast can expect waves as high as 330 feet, the tsunami pressure wave will race across the atlantic towards the america's at about 550 miles an hour.

Oh wow. This is a very interesting topic. How much in danger is it if happening in the next 50 or so years? Thankfully, I live on the gulf coast, ,so those nasty waves will miss my house (as long as the Yucatan Penunsula doesnt fall was well, if that happens I am screwed.) I dont want to be in NYC on that day.
