COMMENTS:
I disagree with censorship because I believe it gives too much power to the person being censored. People flock to these ideas and wonder what is so dangerous about them. The ideas, images, etc. become mystified and pull way too much respect (usually without merit). The people willing to censor them are either afraid of the violent backlash or they believe that they know something no one else has the right to know (usually this type of censorship is self-serving such as the case with propaganda newspapers). I guess you should judge the seriousness of the censorship by the intentions of both parties (the subversive party and the censoring party).

Censorship is basically due to conservatives wanting to shut down dissenting views.
