Good Ballot, They are extremely rude. You remember the theater warning about the cell phone ejector seats (funny commercial), I think all theaters should have them.
Use of Mobile Phones (why on earth would anyone call them cell phones?) in Theatres or Restaurants etc. shows an appaling lack of manners.
I certainly think it would rude for anyone to engage in conversation while at a movie theater. Also, they should be thrust into orbit when their cellphone rings in a movie theater :)
This has happened in the last three movies I went to, and at the last one the three people sitting behind me had a ten-minute conversation loud enough for the whole theatre to hear. These kind of people should be neutered.

Inconsiderate and selfish action of the individual in question, yes very rude to do this to others.
I want to take their cell phone, place it in their new SUV and send it through a compactor!
I would warn that cell phone user to either cease and desisit making and receiving phone calls and to turn his cell phone off while the movie is playing or I'll have either an usher or security order him to leave the theater at once! Today, most movie theaters post large signs ruling that all cellular phones must be turned off while the movies are playing.
