I think Thomas Edison was placed into some form of alternative education for kids with learning disabilities (what we might call special ed. today.) I don't think he deserved it.

I knew this one girl in high school who was put in math special ed. She said she was dsylexic in math . But she could some how always do complicated math problems in her head.

Kind of. My kindergarten teacher wanted to put me into special ed because I was a slow learner "destined for failure." My parents changed schools instead. I still ended up in the remedial class, but a couple of years later, I started getting straight A's for some reason and was valedictorian when I graduated from high school. In a way, though, I think my kindergarten teacher was right because I'm entirely incapable of becoming close friends or maintaining a close relationship with anyone.
