Starting college in September (I'm 17 yrs old). A little nervous, wondering what's in store for me. Family problems never stop. I am planning on quitting my job as a dishwasher where I get paid horrible (6.85/hr, no tips!). Friends are great, I love my boyfriend, parties are fun. Too bad I tore my ligament in soccer and can't play all the sports I want. I havent smoked weed in 2 months, and drink only once in a while. School is getting tough right now, but I'll make honour roll I hope. Prom night in one month! yay
Bow to the Queen, just try and have as much fun as possible right now. I know you're stressed over college and what's waiting for you but it's going to be great! You're going to meet new people and really start to see the world. Enjoy prom and the last few days of high school. All the other stuff will fall into place and as far as family problems go, they never go away so just learn to deal with what's important and put the rest away. ENJOY PROM! (don't drink and drive or ride with someone drinking) Sorry, that's the mom in me... :)
bow_2_the_queen, Yeah, Tadema's right, your going to love college. People really lighten up after High School and University has so many more opportunities for friendships! Keep a positive attitude and the sky's the limit. Family, or personal problems exist for everyone, some more intense than others, but things seem to have a way of working themselves out. Your experiences now will only make you stronger later. Sounds cliche, but true! *Again, don't drink, drive or ride with someone who is!

Oh Mo, our baby is going off to college soon..sniff sniff...did you give her "the talk"?
Don't worry I would never drink and drive! On prom night we are taking a limo and staying at a motel overnight. A paramedic came to our school and gave us an awesome presentation about drinking and driving. It scared the shit out of us! He showed us pictures of burnt bodies. He played a recording of a mother getting a police officer at the door asking her to come and "identify a body." So I'm not going to let anyone drive while drunk.
Well as for my family problems they are something that will never go away. My mother has bipolar disorder, and it really breaks our family. But as for college, I think it's going to be really cool. A lot of my friends are going in the same program as me (Law and Security)
Good! When it's time for my son's prom, I will be happy to pay for a limo...a party at our house..whatever..it's going to kill me when he starts driving...you're a smart girl. My husband is a firefighter/EMT and I hear the horrible stories...
Honestly this is probably the most important time of my life so far. I have never had more responsibilities, pressures, and freedom. No one is there to feed me, buy me clothes, or take me places. How the times have changed! Being 17 does bring lots of pressure, both good and bad. Like my friends want me to get a fake ID so I can go to the bar with them. hmmmmmmm. A lot of people I know are using drugs I would never do like XTC or mushrooms. ahhhhh it never ends
Guest_43b01 there are people out there who love you and look up to you. And right now it may seem you are having trouble in your love life, but just wait. It can happen when you least expect it. Don't be so hard on yourself.
Life is just great for me. Friends, party, family, pets, college and don't forget the internet too and many other stuff that just makes my life great and my new boyfriend too, his so cute :-)
Trapped.
