no, the person could be a terrorist, waiting his whole life to take over and destroy America
Let's make sure Arnold Schwarzenegger doesn't totally screw California over first before we pass a law that would allow him to become president.
Isn't it more democratic to let people vote for whoever they want?
While I would never suggest that anyone's family nationality, race, or ethnicity should predetermine their right to run for the office of the President, I do feel that it makes sense only allowing those born in the States to assume the office. I'd argue that the odds of someone's having a vested interest in the well-being and affairs of the U.S. would be greater if they'd been born and raised there and had it as their sole citizenship, rather than if they were a recent arrival who still might feel a great deal of divided loyalties between their old home and their new one. This by no means applies to everyone who's immigrated, as there are many who prefer the U.S. to their home country and become fiercely dedicated to it. However, I think the odds are just *better* if we restrict the office to the native-born, whatever their background may be.
No! Want to talk about starting a civil war in this country? That would probably do it. The President is the one job that should always be an American born citizen.
But if you can that Elizabeth Hurley gets the job...
it doesnt matter were you come from.you can be born in other countries and be raised in the U.S.Probably you now more about the place were you were raise and not were you wereborn
