yes, absolutely. as christians we must set good examples and live by example. unfortunately, some of us do not and lead non-believers astray and give them the wrong impression of what God and Jesus are really about. Instead, we should strive every minute of the day to always give good examples to non-believers, so we could win them to Christ.
They are basically regular people who are insecure and can get through life only through self righiousness and religious myth. It is a dangerous and sad situation.
Many of these hypocrites wear their religion on their sleeves just so everyone will notice. They don't really believe with their heart. They just TELL you they are christian, go to church so people will see them, and then they go about being hateful, racist, greedy, judgemental..... It's sad. They also treat others (non-christians) like they are defective, stupid, lost or just worthless(the fake pity is the most annoying part of their attitude). When I was a young child and very naive, I used to love to go to church. Now I avoid it at all costs. When I grew up and saw all the hypocrites, I knew I didn't want to belong to that group any more.
exactly. Which makes it harder to find the RIGHT kind of Christians, the ones that aren't judgemental or hateful.
I hate to bust your bubble, buddy, but you are not a Christian. What you are I cannot explain, but what I do know is that you are not what you claim you are. Let's see. If God isn't perfect(like you claim) then Jesus isn't perfect, because Jesus is the Son of God, created perfectly in His image. So if Jesus isn't perfect, then dying for our sins means nothing at all. Which means your faith has hit a snag. Also, you say heaven is sinless. we have no evidence of that whatsoever. All we know is that heaven will be a place without "pain" or "suffering." Heck, we don't even know where it is. Sorry, mate. All the "deeds" that the Bible commands us to do says that gets us "treasure" in heaven IMO I think that means we will be somehow rewarded, etc. etc. So for all we know(yet) we might sin in heaven, but that would be extremely hard considering we don't know what the heck happens when we die and go "up there" except people who can't tell us. so, basically, your religion says that you can get away with anything you want, you don't have to feel bad about anything, and you have no self-responsibility at all. I hope you are proud of yourself. "Brother will betray brother to death, and a father his child. Children will rebel against their parents and have them put to death. All men will hate you because of me, but he who stands firm to the end will be saved." Mark 13: 11-13 Speaking of the End Times.
Self rightiousness is fostered by insecurity. Hypocracy and psuedo-christianism go together. Read any psychology book dealing with the psychology of radical religious people or otherwise brainwashed patients. When a person hits rock bottom, the mind resorts to false imaging and delusions of grandeur. The person finds conviction in their delusion, thus ending mental the mental strain. The problem is that what you have left is a zombie like individual who's only sense of worth comes from their delusion of self rightiousness.
That really doesn't sound like a bad idea, CouchGnome, lol -- I'm waiting to hit rock-bottom so that I can think I'm right and the supreme commander of everything -- it might be a nice feeling.
counciltucky, yes it would be nice wouldn't it..
I find any type of hypocrite unpleasant.
Hypocritical Christians are those so-called "Christians" whom Jesus justifiably criticized for being the "scribes and Pharisees" of our times. While they think the Bible is true, they avoid the Gospels like a plague and, using the Old Testament and Paul's letters in the New, they give good folks of ANY faith - or even none at all - a very bad name.
