He was a cross between a tapir and a lemur. Genetically impossible but you must consider that bunsen and beaker are very good with laboratory equipment and they learned this from their parents. Clearly Gonzo is the product of a genetic experiment caried out by bunsen and/or beaker's parents. But yes, tapir+lemur=Gonzo.
