Sure, causes depression.
It makes it difficult to relate to others.
Yes. Ignorance is bliss, when one is unable to affect/control results.
Yes, they don't prescribe anti-depressants to patients with sub-normal intelligence, they're usually happy enough.
No, the problem comes down to not being smart enough.
Ignorance is bliss.
sorry cathexis, didn't see you comment.
Uh what was the question again?
When it comes to my field, not having the intellect of Newton can make things difficult.
Yeah, I guess!
yeah, it would be frustrating having to talk to idiots (relatively speaking) all the time
I don't think so. I find that guys who are smart are sexy to a certain degree. If there is a balance between smart and sexy that is the perfect combo for a boyfriend/husband. But I have been known to suddenly fall for a nice muscle man that is dumb as a doornail. But it is not like I would take him to meet my parents or anything... just keep him around enough to have some fun and show off for a month or so... Next Please.
How long have you been working in your field, Farmer Troche?
Duh?
Only if you’re at a job interview.
Yes, if you're too smart you figure out things that depress you. People also have high expectations of you.
No. And I wouldn't say 'ignorance is bliss' or that intelligence causes depression- those are two silly cliches. There are depressed people who are knowledgable in all kinds of facts and statistics, and there are depressed people who aren't. I don't think it is a significant factor. But there is a problem with people's egos, meaning their self-belief that they are smarter, and thus think themselves superior. But in that case, it is not the intelligence of the person that is the problem, it is their emotions and ego, and a lack of wisdom.

Remember the saying "Ignorance is bliss"? Some smart guy must of said that
Oh yeah, it was Cathexis

I'd say definitely. I've known a lot of very clever people with very high intelligence having problems with the average person's point of view.
